My week just got better- our fridge is fried!
And we had to throw away 1/2 our food!
Apparently when they fixed our blown fuse yesterday, they didn't notice that fridge was broken. It was plugged in, and the light was on- but no cold air was coming out. Last night I just assumed it wasn't that cold because it would take a while to re-cool/freeze everything, and then this morning I had watery ice and warm coffee creamer. The landlords wont replace or fix it because our lease states that appliances are rented, "as is"- which I wasn't aware implied "we wont fix it if our wiring is old and blows it up".
Cause really, what else can you do?

Apologies in advance...

...for the following negativity. I'm usually a "glass is half full" person. However, today I woke up to smell of  burning wire. Apparently it's just a blown fuse. Thank God nothing caught on fire! Especially since it was RIGHT next to Jonah's room...
but seriously- it's like- what else could go wrong?
Sure, plenty.
I'm just praying hard that nothing does, cause lately it sure has. A blown fuse is a tiny thing, but it's one of a million tiny things, combined with a couple of HUGE things... and it's really hard to remember to be grateful and not get so angry in a sea of problems. I completely put my faith and trust in God, so I know that sometimes it's necessary for God to test us and that everything will work out (really, I do). It's just so hard in the meantime, and we've been in the "meantime" for a long time.

Look what I can do!!!

Jonah has been really trying to crawl.
Pushing up on all fours/rocking and all that.
And it's happened in only a few days time.
His knees move, but not his hands. Yet.
As soon as he figures that one out, it's bye bye baby.
He's gonna take off.
And I'll be running in circles.
And my baby wont be so much of a baby anymore :(

Splish Splash

other photos from the weekend

A penny for your thoughts

On Friday I decided that it had been too long since we last visited my parents so I mentioned to Matt that we should go this weekend. Being the good sport that he is, the husband agreed to my last minute plans. It was nice to see my parents, niece, and sisters (the twins anyhow, Heather is in China right now)- we also got to visit with GG, Aunt Sue, and Krista. The following is one of my favorite moments from the weekend... with pictures to go with (duh).
We went to go see my sister Becky's new house (super cute right? you should see the inside!) which is directly across the street from railroad tracks. (loud? yes. but, like me, she loves the sound of trains so it doesn't bother her one bit)
Hannah, Matt, and my Dad went to see the display caboose right across the road, and Dad put a penny on the tracks and explained about how the train will run over it and flatten it. 90% of the time this doesn't actually work, because the vibration of the tracks can wiggle the penny off before the train can run over it, or if it's not positioned just right, it will just fly off... etc. etc.
Anyway, we went about our business, hanging out and getting the tour of Becky and Ryan's place.
Until (we just got that lucky) Hannah heard a train.
"Grandpa!!! the train is coming!!!" (She was so excited, I loved it.) Across the street we went.
At first, there was no penny to be found... but lo and behold,
 Hannah's train penny :)

Hot Hot Heat

It's been scorching here lately, so we haven't been able to go outside, which makes me sad. Jonah loves being outside. As do I. Since we can't do anything fun outside and we're getting so restless, we are taking off for the weekend to go visit my parents. Hope the rest of you are staying cool, and have something nice planned with your family this weekend as well!!!

Super cute...

...clothes from threadsence.
You should definitely check out their website. I never post about clothing, but I really like the unique and relaxed feel. I am especially eying this scarf, both for the good cause it benefits and it's endless wear-ablity (I think I totally just made that word up):
"SKARF FOR A CAUSE :: Proceeds from the sale of the WHITE SKARF go to Walk With Sally - a Los Angeles-based, registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Walk With Sally is committed to providing healing and comfort to children debilitated by the emotional experience of living with or losing a parent to cancer."

Other things I love from threadsence:
Thank you Elsie for introducing me to these adorable clothes!!!
Also, you should check out Elsie's blog, where she is featuring a $150 giveaway for threadsence! She is awesome, and I love her sense of style. She is so creative.

JoJo's 1st Florida Trip: Part 1

Flight to FL: tears... and VERY vocal dis-appreciation of airplanes. Flight home: ZzZzZ. That's how the travel portion went.
(His expression in the 2nd picture cracks me up. doesn't he look kind of terrified?)

The rest of our 4 days was a blur of family & friends. I loved introducing everyone to my munchkin. Here are some wonderful people that Jonah got to meet:

The Firebaugh's
Great Aunt's and Uncle's
My cousin Sherrie and her new baby, Owen!
 My BEST friend Lisa
And his Uncle Christopher and Grandad
