insomnia, and more pictures

I haven't been sleeping so well lately. As in like 3 hours a night. This happens to me every once in a while anyways, but the stress of an OCD person (me, yes) in a half packed house with only 1 1/2 days left to finish packing- nightmare. However... today I got the CD with the rest of these photos on it, and it put me in a VERY good mood. I can't wait to print these out and get them on my walls in my new home :) I have such a beautiful, happy boy! That is biased as hell, but whatever. It's still totally true.

October so far

We have had a lot of fun already, Fall is our favorite around here.
First we kicked off the month with Aunt Cyndi and Jimbo's wedding...

We've been to Tanner's Orchard
gone on a tour of Matt's brother's work,
had some fun at the park while the guys played basketball

and Jonah took a bath with the big boys and played some XBOX with Uncle Nick.

If you give a baby a pickle...

We had a family picnic in our yard today to enjoy this gorgeous weather we've been having, and to relax before the chaos of moving sets in. We have 4 days to pack up everything... (I may have procrastinated a little bit) and we get our keys on Thursday afternoon! We will be painting all day Friday (thank you nice landlord for the paint allowance) and moving on Saturday. I set a goal for myself to have everything unpacked by the following weekend, but we'll see. I'm not one to sit around and stare at boxes... it drives me nuts. But then again, I've never had to unpack while chasing a baby :)

Love is all we need.

I love weddings. It seems that there have been a lot of them this year. This weekend was my Aunt Cyndi's wedding reception. She and Jim had gotten married the same Saturday as my Grandma's party, during a small ceremony at a chapel in the Smoky Mountains. Only their children and best friends were present, so the reception was an exciting time for them to include all of their friends and family. My Aunt Cyndi has been with Jimbo forever, and it was so sweet to see them still so giddy and in love with each other. I was honored with the task of photographing the day, so here a few of my favorite shots:

Soak up the Sun

Before it gets too cold,
we need to squeeze in
as much outside time as possible.
I love fall, it always has such a different energy and excitement. Soon we'll be drinking apple cider, picking out pumpkins, and cooking turkeys. I can't wait :) Yesterday Jakob had no pre-school so he was at our house. I have missed him so much. I loved how excited he was to come see me- and how anxious he was for Jonah to wake up :)

9 months

Jonah turned 9 moths last Sunday.
My little munchkin has 4 teeth, eats finger foods, and crawls!
3/4 of the way into our first year... oh boy.
I feel an emotional mommy moment coming on :/

While in Florida this weekend, I got to go visit Shawna.
My mom rented a house from Shawna's parent's for years
when I was younger. They're still dear friends of ours.
Shawna is an amazing artist and a photographer.
I was lucky enough that she took some pictures of Jonah
while I was at her house... here are some of the photos:
I'm going to cancel my appointment
at Sear's for his 9 month portraits.
I doubt they would be 1/2 as awesome as these :)

There are few people in this world more awesome than my grandma. She is a beautiful person and one of the toughest people I know. She raised 9 children mostly by herself (my grandpa was a Marine) and she never has a bad word to say about anyone. She has quite the fan club, and they were all present at her 80th birthday party Saturday afternoon. I was a surprise along with her sister Rita and daughters, and my cousin Ryan... none of which she knew were traveling to Florida to see her. The look on her face when she entered the room to about a hundred people singing "Happy Birthday" was priceless. Absolutely priceless. It was nice to see all of my family, some of whom I haven't seen in years. We have a big family so we aren't all together very often, if ever. It was total chaos but I think that for us that's how we function best... what else do we know, right? The more crowded the more love in every inch of the room.
